“ANTAQ” – FIRST PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR PORT FACILITIES ARE PUBLISHED IN THE OFFICIAL GAZETTE OF THE FEDERAL EXECUTIVE

Last July 4th  was published by “ANTAQ”  in the Official Gazette of the Federal Executive, twenty nine (29) extracts of a “convoking instrument” to receive until August 5th, 2013, authorization for the purpose of constructing and operating the port facility in various geographical regions.

The public announcement is in accordance with Law No. 12,815, of June 5th, 2013, and with the policies and guidelines for the development of the Brazilian port sector.

 

Requirements that gave rise to the opening of this announcement are available on the website of “ANTAQ” (www.antaq.gov.br).

 

This first announcement involves the construction and operation of fifty (50) port projects between terminals for private use (“TUPs”), transfer stations loads (“ETCs”) and a port facility tour (“IPT”).

 

According to the Secretary of Ports, these first new facilities represent private contributions of approximately R$ 11 billion (approximately US$5 billion) and a cargo handling over 105 million tons.
